A slim vertical capsule of natural alabaster on a solid brass backplate. The stone is translucent, so the light comes through the shade rather than out of it — a soft, even wash with no visible bulb and no glare at eye level. At roughly a hand’s width across, it is narrow enough to repeat along a corridor without the wall feeling cluttered.
Alabaster is a natural material. Every shade carries its own veining and a slightly different warmth, which is the point of specifying it — but it also means no two pieces are identical. We photograph and confirm the batch before packing if the project calls for a matched set.
Where It Works Best
- Hotel corridors — repeated at regular centres, the narrow profile keeps sightlines clean and light levels even.
- Guest room bedheads — low-glare light for reading that does not spill across the room.
- Stairwells and lift lobbies — a vertical form that reads well against a tall wall.
- Restaurant and bar walls — warm, dimmable light that flatters the room after dark.

Why Specify Alabaster
Alabaster is a soft mineral, closer to gypsum than to marble, and it is one of the few materials that makes light look warmer as it passes through. It does not diffuse light the way opal glass does; it glows. That is why it has stayed in hotel interiors while other finishes have cycled in and out.
The trade-off is handling. Alabaster is softer than marble and can chip if it is knocked, so we pack the shade separately inside the carton and label the box accordingly. If you are fitting these in a high-traffic corridor, tell us and we will quote a spare shade into the order.
For corridors that need a wider light, this fitting sits well alongside a linear pendant run — see our designer linear pendant for the ceiling line above.
Ordering & FAQ
What does the price include?
The price covers the fitting itself, in-house quality inspection before packing, export-grade packing, and inland freight to your named China port. International freight, customs clearance, import duties and taxes are quoted separately, so you can use your own forwarder if you prefer.
Can the finish, size or bulb type be changed?
Yes. These are made to order, so the metal finish, shade size and socket type can all be adjusted. Send us the specification you need and we will confirm feasibility, MOQ and price before you commit.
How long is the lead time?
Lead time is confirmed per order rather than quoted as a blanket figure, because it depends on quantity, finish and whether any part of the design is customised. We put it in writing before you place the order.
Is certification documentation available?
Certification documentation can be arranged per order and destination market. Tell us the destination market and the compliance route you need, and we will confirm what can be supplied with your order.
Can the alabaster shade be replaced if it is damaged on site?
Yes. We can quote spare shades with the order or supply them separately later. Because alabaster is a natural material, a later shade will not match an earlier one exactly — if you need a matched set, order the spares together with the fittings.
Is this suitable for a 120V project?
Yes. These are built to order, so the electrical configuration is set to your project. Tell us the voltage, socket type and any certification route you need for the destination market, and we will confirm what can be supplied before you commit.
