A solid brass picture light in a long, unornamented profile. It mounts above the frame and throws light down and across the face of the artwork rather than out into the room, which is what keeps a picture looking lit rather than spotlit.
Length is the variable that matters. A picture light should span roughly two thirds of the artwork’s width, and because these are made to order we can supply them in the lengths a scheme actually needs instead of forcing you to fit a standard size to a non-standard frame.
Where It Works Best
- Artwork in corridors and lobbies — even light across a canvas without spill onto the wall.
- Hotel room mirrors and vanity units — a linear light that reads cleanly above a mirror.
- Galleries and showrooms — a repeatable fixture for a hung wall.
- Signage and menu boards — a brass housing that suits heritage and hospitality interiors.

Choosing the Length
As a working rule, a picture light should cover about two thirds of the width of the piece it lights. Wider than that and the ends of the beam start to wash the wall; narrower and the edges of the artwork fall off. For a group of frames, one fitting per frame usually reads better than a single long fixture.
Send us the artwork dimensions and the mounting height and we will confirm the length and the beam spread before you commit. Because the body is made to order, a non-standard length does not carry a tooling cost.
For a wall that needs both artwork lighting and general light, see our hotel and banquet range.
Ordering & FAQ
What does the price include?
The price covers the fitting itself, in-house quality inspection before packing, export-grade packing, and inland freight to your named China port. International freight, customs clearance, import duties and taxes are quoted separately, so you can use your own forwarder if you prefer.
Can the finish, size or bulb type be changed?
Yes. These are made to order, so the metal finish, shade size and socket type can all be adjusted. Send us the specification you need and we will confirm feasibility, MOQ and price before you commit.
How long is the lead time?
Lead time is confirmed per order rather than quoted as a blanket figure, because it depends on quantity, finish and whether any part of the design is customised. We put it in writing before you place the order.
Is certification documentation available?
Certification documentation can be arranged per order and destination market. Tell us the destination market and the compliance route you need, and we will confirm what can be supplied with your order.
Can you make a custom length?
Yes — the body is made to order, so lengths outside a standard range are a cutting and assembly change rather than a tooling cost. Send the artwork dimensions and we will confirm the length, the MOQ and the price.
Will the brass tarnish?
Brass is supplied in a natural, lightly antiqued finish and will continue to patinate slowly with handling and air. If you need a finish that holds its colour, a lacquered or plated version can be quoted — tell us at enquiry stage.
